1 month old with angry looking diaper rash!!!? 2 Years, 5 Months ago

Our daughter's nether regions are an angry red (no blisters or anything, just really red). I put an all natural calendula cream on, and she is not wearing a diaper right now. I am just going to let her sleep in a nightgown tonight with no diaper, and lots of waterproof padding underneath. Anything else I can do, or go buy tomorrow? We feel terrible for her

Try to buy a different kind of diaper, and a protective cream that contains Allantion and vitamin E and clove oil, I use it for my kids I have 5. Try the diaper brand change she mit be allergic to that brand of papers I know one of my kids were allergic to Huggies, hope this helps.

Does it have spots, is it"dotty"or is it just generally red?My 2 year old had the worst rash of her life two weeks ago. I tried Triple paste ointment, which is supposed to be really good for bad rashes, left her diaper off as much as possible, used washcloths instead of wipes - it kept getting worse! Finally, her pediatrician said it could be a yeast infection! They are really common in infants and toddlers. She wrote her an anti fungal prescription for Nystatin, and it was so much better in 2 days, and is all but gone now. It isn't the same kind of"yeast infection"that, say, an adult woman would have.My daughter's rash was angry, red, started out in patches, but the patches"merged"until she was red all over.If it's not a yeast infection, try:triple paste ointmentwarm paper towels instead of wipes (many wipes have alcohol, which isn't good for the rash)leaving her diaper off as much as possiblemaking sure she is totally dry before the cream goes onI hated feeling so helpless for her. It sounds like you are doing everything right. I'd just suggest asking about the yeast infection possibility.

My Baby had big rash problems...TRIPLE PASTE works fantastic. Its not cheap but worth every penny. You can get it at babies r us or target. The doc will probably give a fungal prescription if it returns but triple paste is fast acting. Next day improvement. I still have the same tub and my girl is almost 6 mths..Use it when you need it. Sponge bath her and air dry and she will get better. The first 3 months diaper rash is common. Good Luck!

Keep her bottom naked as much as possible. Don't put her in cheap diapers make sure to buy pampers or huggies. Boudreauxs butt paste is great stuff. My daughter got like that anytime I bought anything but pampers swaddlers diapers. Change wet or soiled diapers ASAP. If it does not get better in a couple of days take her to the doctor she may have a yeast infection on the skin on her bottom.
